Update: December 4, 2009

As part of the process to prepare and submit public comments on DOE code change proposals to the IECC, an initial list of proposals being considered for public comment submittal has been posted below. Included in this list is the name and email of staff that will coordinate development of a DOE public comment on specific DOE code changes. We encourage you to contact the designated staff for any change in which you have an interest and initially provide them with suggested revisions to the code change as discussed in the proposed change file provided with each change. Staff will work with all those expressing an interest in a particular change over the next few months as outlined below with an expectation that the public comment submitted on each change have the support of interested parties and ideally those parties could be a co-proponent with DOE of the public comment.

  • 1/15/2010 — First round of input and comments on the public comment documents due to Coordinating Staff
  • 2/15/2010 — First redraft of the public comment document to include comments received from first round to be completed by Coordinating Staff and posted to the web site
  • 3/15/2010 — Second round of input and comments on the first redraft due to Coordinating Staff
  • 4/1/2010 — Second redraft of the public comment document to include comments received from the second round to be completed by Coordinating Staff and posted to the web site
  • 5/1/2010 — Third redraft of the public comment document posted
  • 5/10-11/2010 — Public meetings (residential 10th and commercial 11th) in DC area for all interested and affected parties to discuss third redraft of DOE public comments as well as public comments that others would like to place on the agenda for discussion

Note that this schedule was revised on December 4, 2009 due to the IECC hearings being moved from the Spring to the Fall of 2010. View the original announcement of this effort from Ron Majette, U.S. Department of Energy.
