DOE Determinations in Progress

ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2007 - Under analysis at DOE

DOE is currently analyzing ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2007. DOE will be using a new methodology for this analysis and will be holding a public meeting on this new analysis methodology in 2008 to allow for public comment.

ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2004 - Under review at DOE

DOE is currently assessing whether the ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2004 would achieve greater efficiency compared to the ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-1999. This determination will also include discussion of ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2001. DOE has decided to not issue a separate determination for this Standard.

Background information on the determination process is also available.

Determinations History

ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-1999 is the only formal determination that DOE has released.

Quantitative Analysis:

A quantitative analysis of the estimated differences between the 1989 and 1999 editions of Standard 90.1 has been performed to inform and support the final determination. An Excel spreadsheet containing the analysis can be downloaded at no cost (ZIP 5.8 MB). Download Zip Application.

An Explanation of the Analysis and Spreadsheet is available to assist in understanding the analysis.

Detailed Textual Analysis:

A Detailed Textual Analysis of the estimated differences between the 1989 and 1999 editions of Standard 90.1 has been performed to inform and support the final determination (PDF 87 KB). Download Acrobat Reader.
