Current Status Comments:

The Arkansas Energy Office (AEO) has upgraded their existing Arkansas Energy Code. The intent of AEO was to adopt by reference, thermal efficiency standards for new residential and commercial buildings based on the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) 2003 Edition and the ANSI/ASHRAE/ISNEA 90.1-2001 respectively. When the IECC 2003 Edition is used in conjunction with the Arkansas Supplements and Amendments, it will constitute the 2004 Arkansas Energy Code for New Building Construction. The SHGC of .40 has been deleted in the 2004 Arkansas Energy Code for New Building Construction.
