Current Status Comments:

Cities and counties may adopt codes that differ from the Nebraska Energy Code, however, state law requires the adopted code to be equivalent to the Nebraska Energy Code.

The City of Omaha adopted the 2006 IECC in October 2007.

The State of Nebaska is currently completing two Analyses to evaluate Nebraska specific energy savings and cost effectiveness for later editions of the IECC. The first is a "30% Better that 2006 IECC Commercial Building Code" analysis and the second is an analysis of the energy savings impact of the 2009 IECC on Nebraska's residential construction.
