Notes on the State's Residential Code:
When showing compliance to their new energy code using REScheck, the 2003 IECC code option should be used rather than 2006 IECC and compliance should exceed 2003 IECC by two percent or more.

Previous code was based on 1995 CABO MEC with New Jersey modifications.

Notes on the State's Commercial Code:
ASHRAE/IESNA 90.1-2004 with minor modifications.

Previous code was based on ASHRAE 90.1-1999.

Approximate Stringency:
Complex Stringency - More stringent than 2006 IECC with 20% or more glazing (less than 20% is slightly less stringent).
Approximate Stringency:
As stringent as the ASHRAE 04
Current Status Comments:

Local jurisdictions may not make amendments to the codes.

The State is proposing for adoption to the 2009 IECC and ASHRAE 90.1-2007 during the summer of 2009.
