Current Status Comments: The Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC) is a statewide minimum requirement that local jurisdictions cannot amend. The code is applicable to all new buildings in the commonwealth. The Dept. of Housing & Community Development will commence the 2009 USBC regulatory process in March 2009 with plans to adopt the 2009 IECC and 90.1-2007 and a projected implementation date of SEP 2010.
