For SI:  1 inch = 25.4 mm, Btu per inch/h - ft2 - ºF = W per 25 mm/K - m2

a. Based on insulation having a conductivity not exceeding 0.27 Btu per     inch/h - ft2 - ºF

Exceptions

  • Piping that conveys fluids that have not been heated or cooled through the use of fossil fuels or electric power
  • Runout piping not exceeding 4 ft in length and 1 in. in diameter between the control valve and HVAC coil
