July 19-22, 2004
Philadelphia, PA

Workshop Summary

The 2004 National Workshop on State Building Energy Codes was held July 19-22, 2004, at the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Workshop included pre- and post-Workshop activities, all-day Pennsylvania Commercial Code Training, 2 1/2 days of sessions (including plenary and over 15 technical sessions), and a half-day ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2001 short course.

The Workshop participants included attendees representing energy-related organizations in 43 states and territories. Attendees included staff from state energy offices, utilities, energy code consultants, energy efficiency advocacy groups, industry/trade associations, builders, and model code organizations.

The Workshop provided an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of energy codes and standards-related topics, and face-to-face networking through formal and informal meetings allowing states and other stakeholders to share code-related challenges and code-related successes. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) through the Building Energy Codes Program (BECP) sponsored the event, which was hosted by the DOE Mid-Atlantic Regional Office.
