Public input needed on Manufactured Housing Energy Efficiency Standards
About 21 million people live in 9 million manufactured homes across the United States. With numbers like that, the potential to save energy and money through improved efficiency standards is clearly nothing to sneeze at. So, the U.S. Department of Energy is looking for input to help them develop and publish energy standards for new manufactured housing. Specifically, DOE is looking for information that relates to design, construction, financing, operating costs and other areas of relevance. A formal notice was published in the Federal Register on Feb. 22. Written comments need to be provided to DOE by March 24, 2010. For more information, see the Register announcement or BECP's Manufactured Housing web page.
