DOE provides technical assistance, including upgrading of voluntary codes, compliance material development, economic analysis, and training. The following reports were part of this assistance.
Nationwide Analysis Reports
The Building Energy Codes Program was tasked by the U.S. Department of Energy to analyze the potential energy savings if current state building energy codes were updated to the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code® (IECC) for low-rise residential buildings and ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2007 (Standard 90.1-2007) for commercial and high-rise multifamily residential buildings. The final reports are available below:
- Impacts of the 2009 IECC for Residential Buildings at State Level, (September 2009)
- Impacts of Standard 90.1-2007 for Commercial Buildings at State Level, (September 2009)
- See the Status of State Energy Codes database for individual states analysis reports.
