Sustainable Design

Session 5 of a seven-part webcast series presented by the Department of Energy's Federal Energy Management Program to help federal agencies comply with the requirements of ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2004.

The Sustainable Design webcast provides an overview of sustainable design federal requirements and strategies. Sustainable design principles and practices are well established and can be applied at some level to any project to reduce the environmental impact and operational cost of a building, while increasing occupant satisfaction. The requirements within Executive Order 13423, the Energy Policy Act of 2005, and the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 are driving the federal sector to be leaders in sustainable design.
