Commercial IECC Building Models 2012 IECC - All Building Types
The commercial IECC prototype building models were developed by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in support of the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) Building Energy Codes Program. These prototype buildings were derived from DOE's Commercial Reference Building Models. The prototype models include 16 building types in 19 climate locations for for recent editions of the IECC. Also included is a scorecard for each prototype building. The scorecard is a spreadsheet that summarizes the building descriptions, thermal zone internal loads, schedules and other key modeling input information.

Energy Savings Analysis: 2018 IECC for Residential Buildings
Technical analysis in support of the 2018 IECC Determination.
End-Use Opportunity Analysis Based on Standard 90.1-2016
This report summarizes technical analysis conducted by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), assessing expected end-use energy consumption in commercial buildings, based on recent editions of the model energy code for the commercial sector, ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings. An accompanying spreadsheet is available containing detailed end use data results from the Progress Indicator analysis.

Virginia Residential Energy Code Field Study
A research project in the Commonwealth of Virginia identified opportunities to reduce homeowner utility bills in residential single-family new construction by increasing compliance with the state energy code. The study was initiated in August 2017 and continued through May 2018. During this period, research teams visited 138 homes during various stages of construction, resulting in a substantial data set based on observations made directly in the field.
Commercial IECC Building Models 2009 IECC - Warehouse (non-refrigerated)
The commercial IECC prototype building models were developed by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in support of the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) Building Energy Codes Program. These prototype buildings were derived from DOE's Commercial Reference Building Models. This suite of commercial IECC prototype buildings covers all the Reference Building types except supermarket, and also adds a new building prototype representing high-rise apartment buildings. The prototype models include 16 building types in 17 climate locations for the 2006 IECC, 2009 IECC, 2012 IECC, and 2015 IECC. This combination leads to a set of 1088 building models (in EnergyPlus Version 8.0). Also included is a scorecard for each prototype building. The scorecard is a spreadsheet that summarizes the building descriptions, thermal zone internal loads, schedules and other key modeling input information.

Phase I Field Study Data
The data (in this file or on this page) represents the data collected as DOE’s Residential Field Study[1] as of June 2016. Data is provided Microsoft Excel for 8 states – AL, KY, MD, NC, PA, TX, AR and GA. Additional states using DOE’s field study methodology, may be added in the future as data collection and analysis is completed.
This data file was reformatted and revised May 28, 2019, and again July 17, 2019.

Quantitative and Economic Analysis of the 2020 Florida Building Energy Code
This project was initiated because of the state of Florida desire to review provisions of its proposed 7th Edition (2020) Florida Energy Code (FEC) for commercial buildings in order to make a determination if it meets or performs better than ASHRAE 90.1-2016 code. For this purpose the proposed code modifications were reviewed and quantitatively analyzed.
